Known in Croatia as “Brancin” or “Smudut”, the European Seabass is a staple in Adriatic fishing. This species exhibits a sleek, silver body and is renowned for its agility and predatory nature. Seabass typically inhabit coastal waters, estuaries, and lagoons, feeding on smaller fish and invertebrates. In Croatian cuisine, Seabass is often grilled whole, seasoned simply with olive oil, garlic, and rosemary, allowing its delicate, flaky meat to be the star of the dish.
