Grouper

Known as “Kijerna” in Croatia, the Dusky Grouper is a slow-growing, bottom-dwelling fish that inhabits rocky reefs and underwater caves. This species is recognized by its robust body and mottled brownish coloration, which provides excellent camouflage. Highly valued for its firm, flavorful meat, Grouper is often prepared in brodet or baked whole with aromatic Mediterranean ingredients. Its large size and strong fight also make it a prized target for sport fishing.
